For the launch of Xiaomi's new gaming phone Redmi K40, our team at SUNRAY created a projection mapping show on one of Xiaomi's headquarters buildings in Beijing, China.

Ideation

From one of Xiaomi's slogans, we derived three keywords: "explore the unknown", "discover new worlds", and "bold adventure", to be the theme of this experience.

Based on the theme, we crafted a space adventure storyline and selected KINO, Xiaomi's brand mascot, as the main character.

The Experience

The adventure begins as the player takes on the role of KINO, who sets out on an exhilarating quest to explore the uncharted universe. Along the way, they must navigate obstacles and dodge meteorites using the Redmi K40 as their controller.

Development

Collaborated with animators to turn hand-drawn sketches into animations.

Created 3d assets in Blender, rigged and animated KINO

Assisted with developing the game in Unity

On-site technical testing
